Sunkissed

It's been awhile, but I am back and I am here to post another short film. This one is called "Sunkissed" and it is directed by one of my very good friends Daniel Mandall. "Sunkissed" was shot in 2016, but wasn't released for viewing until recently. It stars another great friend and talent Preston Mulligan, who has starred in some of the other short films I've shared on this blog. "Sunkissed" features hypnotic cinematography, editing, and sound design. It is best viewed with headphones and on a large screen or monitor. Check it out below and share your thoughts in the comments section!

"MEMORANDUM"

"MEMORANDUM" a short film by my friend, Williamscott Sorge, is a short film about... memories and the inability to let go. Not an official synopsis, that's just my take on it. This the second short film from Sorge. I made a post about his debut short "Death Becomes Him" and though I'm late on sharing this, I wanted to give my friends film some exposure. There are some beautifully crafted sequences in this and it definitely shows growth in Sorge's filmmaking. I haven't had the chance to crew on either of Sorge's short films, but he did act in one of mine, and he knows a great deal about cinema.

You may also recognize the lead actor, which is the very talented, Preston Mulligan. Preston has been in quite a few shorts directed by friends of mine. He is an amazing talent and I can't wait to see more of him. Check out "Memorandum" below and leave your thoughts in the comment section.

"EGGS"

My good friend and frequent collaborator Jordan Yagiello has recently released his follow up short film to "The Sleepover". This one is titled "EGGS" and it is about a man exploring his sexual fetishes and spicing up his sex life. Jordan worked with Denise Averbukh as his DP and the film also features Williamscott Sorge and William Breen, two filmmakers that I've talked about in previous posts.

From my understanding the production on "EGGS" had a bit of trouble from the start and a full eight minutes of the film has been lost due to data corruption (that's the nature of the digital era for you). While some of it's flaws show, despite all the production difficulties and lost footage, Jordan was still able to deliver a compelling film that showcases his unique sensibilities. "EGGS" features a great use of dynamic editing, juxtaposing distasteful images with classical music that had a transfixing on me. I can say after watching "EGGS", though I did not have a chance to crew on this film, I am proud to have collaborated many times with Jordan in the past, and I hope that we have the chance to work together again in the future.

Watch "EGGS" below and let us know what your sexual fetish is in the comments!

Fruit Snack Studios

FRUIT SNACK STUDIOS is a comedy sketch group started by my friend Brandon Lecy. His videos will occasionally feature myself in either the front of the camera or behind the camera, or possibly both. Brandon is one of the most talented people I know and his sketches are 100% him. All camera work, editing, writing, and original music is done by Brandon himself. He recently uploaded his very first short for FRUIT SNACK STUDIOS, which happens to be a reimagining of something we did together awhile back called "The Eggs".

"A Victim, A Target" a short film by Me

I have another short film to share with you today. This is kind of long over due. It's a 16mm short film that I made for a production class in 2014. It was shot on a bolex camera using kodaks 16mm reversal black and white film. It was developed and digitally transferred by none other then NYC's shitty PAC lab. The short film actually deviated quite a bit from my original script, due to technical errors and beginner mistakes. However, it was a fun shoot and I'm happy with some of the overall photography. You may recognize the music from Francois Truffaut's The 400 Blows. Anyway, the film was originally an attempt to be an exercise in style. Share your thoughts in the comments below!

"Death Becomes Him"

Well, I'm back with another short film directed by a good friend of mine from New York. This one is called "Death Becomes Him". It is the first film from Williamscott Sorge and he wrote, edited, scored, and directed it. He also stars in it as well. It also features Jordan Yagiello, who appears in the last short I posted, and one of my films as well. Check it out below and leave your comments with any thoughts!
